Byndoor : A young couple hailing from Byndoor in Udupi district, who gained recognition in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat‘ for choosing to clean the Someshwara beach instead of embarking on a honeymoon trip, has been extended an invitation to attend the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.
Anudeep and Minusha, the couple in question, were personally invited by the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) and have already departed for Delhi, as per sources.
Having tied the knot in November 2020, Anudeep and Minusha opted to dedicate their time to cleaning their local beach rather than indulging in traditional honeymoon travels. This selfless act garnered the attention of the Prime Minister, who commended their initiative during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme.
In addition to the couple, another individual invited to witness the Republic Day parade is a cobbler who operates a Lidkar footwear repair service near Shastri Circle in Kundapur district. This cobbler had successfully availed a loan under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Scheme.
