Karkala : Students of various colleges of Karkala  braved the incessant rains and gathered in front of the Taluk Office in the town on  Monday, July 14 to demand justice in the case of the suspicious death of  Ratna Kottari, a student of Shiroor Government PU College who was found dead in a forest area recently. The protest organised by the ABVP also made an vehement appeal to the authorities to arrest those responsible for the death of Ratna.

Though initially it was planned to hold a procession, it was cancelled and a protest meet held in front of taluk office.

ABVP leader Chethan Prabhu read out the memorandum which was later handed over to Tahsildar Babu Devadiga.

The Tahsildar who accepted the memorandum assured an in-depth probe.

Though the students had secured permission to hold the protest, they had not availed permission to use a mike and therefore a car fitted with mike which was brought to the venue had to be sent back.
