Hussainabba’s death: Police nab another Bajrang Dal activist

Udupi: The police arrested another person, a Bajrang Dal activist in connection with the death of cattle trader Hussainabba at Perdoor on May 30. With this the total number of arrests in the case have gone up to four.

District Superintendent of Police, Laxman Nimbargi confirmed the news of the arrest on June 2.

The arrested – Suresh Mendon alias Suri (43), son of late Raju Mendon of Perdoor, Prasad H. Kondadi (30), Son of Heriya Marakala of Bommarabettu in Hiriyadka, Umesh Shetty (28), Son of Vittal Shetty of Gorel in Perdoor and Rathan (22), Son of Ramesh Poojary of Bommarabettu – are all Bajrang Dal activists.

Suresh Mendon and Prasad Kondadi, the prime accused in the case were arrested from Bellary, whereas Umesh Shetty and Ratan, who had helped the duo in executing the crime, were arrested from Udupi.

As per the complaint lodged by Mohammed Ismail, brother of Hussainabba, at the Hiriyadka Police Station on May 30, the accused had mercilessly beaten Hussainabba which resulted in his death. Based on the complaint, the Hiriyadka Police had filed a case under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.
