Udupi: The police took one person into custody on Tuesday in connection to the murder of history-sheeter Praveen Kulal.

The arrested has been identified as Santosh Madivala alias Ontibettu Santosh. The police had already taken two persons Puttige Santosh and Latheesh Poojary into custody for their alleged involvement in the murder.

Kulal was chased and hacked to death allegedly by Santosh and Poojary on December 19. Praveen had fought back with a knife, due to which the attackers suffered injuries and are now recuperating at District Government Hospital. The duo was arrested the same evening near Puttige village. It is said that Ontibettu Santosh too was having drinks with Praveen at the bar and informed Santosh and Poojary about Kulal’s location which led to the murder.
