Gangolli fire incident: Police release the arrested

Kundapur: The police have released two persons who were arrested in connection with fire incident in Gangolli recently. The decision was taken by the police as thousands of hindu activists seized the police station demanding the release of two arrested.

Sridhar and Vasu Devadiga, were arrested by the police, claiming that they have reasons to believe that the two were involved with the torching of a commercial complex in Gangolli housing ten shops in last Friday.

A motor bike rally was organized to lead both the Hindu Jagran Vedike leaders, once they were released on bail by the court. They were brought in a procession to the premises of Veerashaiva Temple in Gangolli.

Gangolli village in Kundapur taluk was tense after six shops were damaged in fire on Saturday.

According to the police, the fire began at 1.30 p.m. A paint shop and a garment shop were damaged badly, while the impact on four others was minimal.

Earlier, Gangolli had witnessed a clash between two groups of youths from different communities on Thursday.
