Manipal: Sri Prasanna Maha Ganapathi temple road, which links Hudko colony to Mannupalla was demolished overnight without permission or consent of the locals. In an instant, the locals staged protest against this, here on Saturday, August 8.
The road adjacent to the temple was constructed years back and also has stone steps which lead to Manipalla road. A local named Bojaraj on August 7, without any prior information or permission destroyed the road using JCB.
Hundreds of people use that road every day, however, now they are facing great trouble to get to Manipalla road.
Hariprasad Rai, temple in charge said, “The compound wall of the temple is also in a condition to fall anytime. Adjacent to the temple, in a 3 cents land temple committee had plans to have new plantations on the occasion of vanamahotsava, but it was also destroyed”.
“No one has the right to destroy public property; it is a government land moreover its public road”, he said.
Locals here condemned the act and demanded administration to take action against Bojaraj and punish him as per law at the earliest.
A memorandum in this regards was forwarded to the DC, Minister In charge and MLA.
