Udupi: Free Wi-Fi facility would be provided for one hour to visitors at the Malpe beach from January 15, said Deputy Commissioner Dr Vishal R on Tuesday, January 5.
Speaking after holding meeting of the Malpe Development Committee, Deputy Commissioner said that the Tourism Department has approached the BSNL to offer the facility and paid it Rs 1 lakh for three months to provide the service.
The decision to provide free Wi-Fi facility at the beach has been taken after Reliance Company came forward with the offer, he said.
The department has initiated several development projects at Malpe beach to enhance the quality of service offered to the visitors, he said.
