Karkala: In a tragic incident a woman died after four from the same family launched a suicide pact in Karkala on Thursday late night.

Govind (40), Gauthami (32), Sudarshan (11) and Karthik (7) attempted suicide at their residence in Mahalakshmi Oni.

The family of four had consumed poison. While all of them were rushed to KMC Hospital in Manipal, Gauthami breathed her last.

Gauthami and Govind were a couple with two kids-Suddarshan and Karthik. It is said that financial crunch drove the family to take this extreme step.

Case has been registered.
