Karkala: Former Indian cricketer and commentator Ravi Shastri visited Vishnumurthy temple in Karvalu Yerlappady here on September 23. He performed rituals to Vishnu at the temple.

He has regularly visited the temple since last six years along with his family. It is said that he had no children even after 18 years of marriage. However he was blessed with a girl child through devotion towards Karvalu deity.

His ancestors hail from Karvalu Yerlappady and thus he has been a regular visitor to the temple.

Temple president Chandrashekhar Hegde, Administrator Somashekhar Rao, Santhosh Shastri, Kavitha Shastri, Dr Dineshchandra Hegde, Palli Kishan Hegde, journo Manohar Prasad were present.
