“Every leader should act for the development of their constituency”, Sorake

Udupi: The  District minister in charge, Vinay Kumar Sorake, while distributing various benefits to the public at Alevoor, Ucchila, Yelluru and Majuru gram panchayats, asserted that to have a successful rule, public representatives should take the responsibility of their constituencies.

Announcing the works accomplished, Sorake said, “a Rs: 52 crore permanent drinking water project foundation stone was laid at Kaup and Uchila. For the development of industries 82 acres of land was declared reserved at Belapu. Based on the sustainable development, 77 % ration cards have been distributed in Bada Yermal gram panchayat area”.

 He further declared that Rs 97 lakh development work has been approved in Bada Yermal for road repair works, construction of bore wells and development of ponds and tanks. 8 beneficiaries have received the Indira Awaj Yojana benefits, 20 Self-help group received Rs 20 lakh.

 He also said,  “Rs 9.20 crore has been released for the Morarji School in Heerbettu. 108 houses will be distributed under Matsya Shreya Yojana. Rs 30 lakh has been released for the upgrading the pond in Marpalli village. Rs 30 lakh has bee released to build the Tsunami protection walls. Rs 5 crore is released to develop fisheries road in the district.

 320 BPL cards were distributed on the occasion and 16 people were offered the benefits of the Sandhya Suraksha Yojana, while a  student was offered a laptop under SC/ST programme, he said.
