Udupi: The ninth “Udupi District Kannada Sahitya Sammellan” will be organized at Poornaprajna auditorium from June 20 to June 21, informed District Kannada Sahitya Parishath president – Neelavara Surendra Adiga.

Addressing the media, Neelavara said that Admaru mutt seer Sri Vishwapriyatheertha Swamiji will inaugurate the programe.

There would be five lectures, two poet meets, an open session and nine cultural programmes at the Sammellan. Writer Ramdas has been chosen as the president of the event.

Vasanth Kumar Perla, Director of All India Radio, Mangalore, would speak on ‘Kannada in mass media’. Writer Janardhan Bhat would deliver a lecture on ‘Litterateurs of the district in the last 100 years’.

Around 20 literary books will be released by State Kannada Sahitya Parishath former president Harikrishna Punarur, moreover the veteran litterateur N Mogasale will deliver the valedictory address, Neelavara added.

Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje, MLA Pramodh Madhwaraj and DC Muddu Mohan will be the chief guests on the occasion.
