District congress agitate over hike in rail fare

Udupi: Members of the district youth Congress organized a protest at Indrali Railway Station on Wednesday June 25th against the increased rail fare.

Oscar Fernandes, former Union Minister and Rajyasabha member said the NDA government failed to control the present economic situation.

The stable economy which they promised during the election was fake, he alleged.

Demanding a revision  in the fare, he said that the people have begun to raise their voice against this condition of increasing prices everywhere.

The protesters stopped the Rajadhani Express train and displayed their anger against the increase in railway passenger fares and freight rates.

Sunil Bangera, Udupi-Chikmagalur Youth Congress president, Vikas Shetty Udupi constituency Youth Congress president, Janardhan Bhandarkar, INTUC district president Murali Shetty, Yathish Karkera, KPCC member Dinesh Puthran and others were present.
