Udupi: A couple hailing from Udupi died in a ghastly road mishap near Channarayapatna in Hassan on Tuesday. Two children of the deceased couple have sustained severe injuries and have been admitted to hospital.

The deceased are Ashok Prabhu (45) and his wife Ashwini Prabhu (35) from Peranankila near Hiriadka here.

The incident took place when the family of four was bound to Bengaluru from Udupi in Nano car. On reaching Chikkagonda, Ashok lost control over the vehicle killing the two on spot.

Ashok was a software engineer and employeed in an IT firm in Bengaluru.

Hirisave police have registered a case.
