Brahmaratha construction begins for Ayodhya Ram Mandir

Kundapur: The construction of the massive Brahmaratha (chariot) for the Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya began on May 14 Friday.

The construction of the chariot was initiated by senior chariot artisans Laxminarayana Acharya and Rajagopalacharya. This chariot, which will be created for Lord Sri Ram, will be the world’s highest and largest. The construction of the chariot began on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya.

The chariot construction will take two and a half years to finish. On behalf of Hanuma Janmabhoomi Kshethra of Kishkinda, this chariot will be donated to Sri Ram Mandir.

Laxminarayana Acharya of Koteshwara Vishwakarma Karakushala Shilpakala Kendra, a national award-winning chariot maker, will construct the chariot. The chariot’s overall height, including wheels, would be 84 feet.

The chariot requires a total of 60 tonnes of wood to construct. The chariot would be 50 tonnes in weight. Around the chariot will be original artwork relating to Lord Ram and the Ramayana. The chariot is expected to cost Rs 4 crore.
