Karkala: A second accused in Hebri Nadpalu Bhoja master murder case has been arrested by the Karkala police.
Sanjeeva alias Salim from Pavagada in Tumakuru is the arrested.
Bhoja master was killed in a naxal attack that took place in 2008 a day before the elections in Hebri Nadpal.
Bhoja master was believed to be a police informer. The naxals who learnt about him giving information to the police, entered his house and threatened him. Bhoja master too retaliated by showing them a machet. Even after the threat from the naxals, Bhoja master had continued to work for the police which subsequently led to his murder.
There were 11 persons involved in the case. First accused Manohar and third accused Vasantha died in a police encounter.
Another 10th accused Shankarappa alias Veeramani was arrested by the Tamilnadu police in November 2015 and was handed over to the Karkala police.
Police sources said that there are more than 20 cases registered against Sanjeeva alias Salim in Andhra Pradesh and he had surrendered to the police. But later on he was acquitted of all the cases and started working as police informer and was targeted by the naxalites.

He has been sent to judicial custody till May 11.
