Udupi: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) which is handling the sensational Bhasker Shetty murder case, after putting together the information from its investigation has now suspected the involvement of contract killers from Mumbai.

Bhasker Shetty murder case: Five accused to be produced in court today-1Non-resident entrepreneur and owner of Hotel Durga International, Bhaskar Shetty went missing on July 28 from Udupi. Soon, his wife Rajeshwari and son Navaneeth were arrested by the police on charges of charring Shetty to death after collaborating with a young astrologer named Niranjan Bhat.

According to reliable sources, it is said that Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari and son Navaneeth must have sought the assistance of contract killers to eliminate Shetty.

As per latest information, it is gathered that Bhaskar Shetty was blinded by using pepper spray following which he was kidnapped and then murdered.

Story just to mislead?

The entire story narrated by accused astrologer Niranjan Bhat of Nandalike is suspected to be false by the investigating team. Niranjan, who is an acquaintance of Rajeshwari and Navaneeth must have spun a cock and bull story to mislead the investigation. Niranjan had informed that he had thrown the burnt body of Shetty and other things like petrol cans in the river. It is now believed that, Niranjan must have thrown only the petrol cans to hoodwink the cops.

The accused seem to be aware that the court needs conclusive proof about the death of a person before convicting the murderers. The CID cops might now start a new round of investigation to gather substantial evidence.

Cops claim to have found a ‘will’

Meanwhile, sources from CID have stated that they have acquired a will which was executed by Bhasker Shetty few days before he was murdered. It is said that according to the will, Shetty had bequeathed his property overseas, to his brothers while the property in Udupi has been given to his mother Gulabi Shetty.
