Bhasker Shetty murder case: DIG CID Sonia Naranag visits Udupi

Udupi: Deputy inspector general of police (DIG), CID, Sonia Narang visited Nandalike to look into the sensational Bhasker Shetty murder case on Monday, August 22.

Naranag along with her team visited Niranjan Bhat’s home, Shetty’s Hotel Durga International in the city and his office. The team did some thorough checking.

According to sources, the CID team is looking at the possible involvement of supari killers in Shetty’s murder. Meanwhile, Athithi Bar and Restaurant in Hotel Durga International building has been locked by excise department as the license of operation had expired. Though Bhasker Shetty and his wife Rajeshwari were partners, a third person was running the bar. The excise department seized around 240 litres of alcohol worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the bar.

Meanwhile, state director general of police, Omprakash said that the investigation into the case was gaining momentum. Omprakash also informed that he had directed the senior officials of CID to file a report regarding the case at the earliest.
