Bhasker Shetty murder: Accused’s bail plea hearing posted to Nov 16

Udupi: The hearing for the bail application moved by accused Rajeshwari Shetty in the Bhasker Shetty murder was posted by the District and Sessions Court to November 16.

Special Public Prosecutor, M. Shantharam Shetty filed objection in writing to the bail application moved by Rajeshwari Shetty. The court posted the case for hearing arguments to the new date after the counsel for Rajeshwari Shetty sought time for filing their arguments to the objection.

It may be recalled, Bhasker Shetty, a NRI hotelier was murdered on July 28. Police arrested Rajeshwari and her son Navneeth on charges of murder and destroying evidence while they arrested Niranjan for allegedly helping in disposing of Bhasker Shetty’s body. The police further arrested Srinivas Bhat, father of Niranjan Bhat, and Raghavendra, Niranjan’s car driver on the charge of destruction of evidence in the case.

While Rajeshwari, Navneeth and Niranjan are in judicial custody, Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra are out on bail.
