Udupi: Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra who are were in the CID’s custody for destroying evidence in connection with Bhaskar Shetty’s murder, were remanded to judicial custody till September 6.
The other three arrested, Rajeshwari Shetty, her son Navaneeth Shetty and astrologer Niranjan Bhat are already in judicial custody till September 6. Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra were remanded to judicial custody by Additional senior civil judge Rajesh Karnam after they were produced in the court on Wednesday.
The defence counsel Sunil, submitted an application seeking medical assistance for Srinivas Bhat, who is said to be suffering from cardiovascular problems. The court said the jail authorities will be intimated in this regard. Sunil said he will move a bail application before the district and sessions court.
Meanwhile, the blood samples of Bhaskar Shetty’s mother Gulabi Shedthi and brother Suresh were collected by government doctors on Wednesday. The samples will be sent for DNA testing.
