Udupi: A video has gone viral on social websites where the police officials investigating the murder case of Bhaskar Shetty are seen coming out of a hotel at Nitte near Karkala with the murder-accused.

The CCTV footage, dated August 10, 4pm, shows investigating officer Dr Sumana, visiting the hotel along with the murder-accused. Niranjan Bhat’s father, Srinivas Bhat, and driver, Raghavendra are also seen in the video.

The public raised hue and cry over the fact that Manipal station house officer, S V Girish, had offered his seat to accused Navaneeth Shetty while returning from court. The new video has strengthened the belief of the public that the police are hand in the support of the murder-accused in the sensational case.

The police have however played down the incident saying that they couldn’t leave the accused alone when they were having food at the hotel in the evening and had taken them along.
