Udupi: A case has been registered at the Udupi town police after a gang assaulted the office in-charge of Hotel Durga International here on December 18.

Office in-charge Sandesh was assaulted by Rajeshwari Shetty’s sister Roopa Bhaskar Shetty, her son Bhargava Shetty and a gang of five persons. It is said that Roopa shetty and Bhargava Shetty had changed the lock of the office when Sandesh was out of station. According to a complaint filed by Sandesh, the group called Sandesh on December 18 to the parking lot of the hotel and assaulted him.

In another complaint to the police, Ajith Kumar, the manager of the hotel said that Sandesh, Pradeep Pai, Jayaraj and other four threatened and posed life threat to him on December 18. He said in his complaint that Sandesh, Pradeep Pai, Jayaraj along with four others entered the hotel premises and abused him after he objected them to force open the door of the office.

It is said that Shiraj, Bhaskar Naik, Jayaraj, Balakrishna Alva and Ramakrishna Naik all employees of the hotel are looking after the hotel after paying Rs 1 lakh to Gulabi Shetty, Bhashkar Shetty’s mother.
