Bannanje Raja to be kept under judicial custody for another day

Udupi: Nagajyoti K.A, Principal Civil Judge (Senior Division) and Chief Judicial Magistrate on Monday ordered that Gangster, Bannanje Raja be kept under judicial custody for another day at Hiryadka jail with additional security.

Raja was under police custody for 9 days, with regard to the shootout case at Airody Jewellers at Udupi in 2011. The custody was to end on September 7.

Sr Assistant prosecutor, Shanti Bhai requested the court for judicial custody of Raja here in Hiryadka.

However, Bannanje Raja’s advocate demanded the court to send him to Belagavi, as there is no security here.

On 8th he will be produced in the same court. Through body warrant, police will claim for his custody for Ananth Shetty robbery attempt case, which occurred on September 26, 2013, at Kalyanpur, Santhakatte, it has been reported.
