Udupi: The exhibition of Paintings and Sculptures by K. Pundalik Shenoy was held at Gallery Dristi on Sunday, May 10.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman Alvas Education Foundation, Moodabidri. Dr. P. V. Bhandary Consultant Psychiatrist and Director of Dr. A. Baliga Memorial Hospital were the chief guest on the occasion.

Pundalik Shenoy a senior artist of Kerala, studied at Mangalore. His creations centered on the subject “Religion and Faith”. The exhibition was a shadow of folk arts of coastal Karnataka and the ancient native arts of Kerala. He used indigenous colours for the art work that were prepared by him.
The style of work is so designed to move from realistic, semi-realistic, kinetic, impressionistic and surrealistic to abstract expressionism keeping in tune with the main tempo of occultism, mysticism and metaphysics.
Shenoy’s this special attempt may help the viewers to know the evolutionary stages, which took place in the history of arts, its gradual movement from the Ancient to the Modern.
He is a self-taught artist who has won a number of awards and honours like the Kerala ‘Lalitkala Academy Award’. He has held exhibitions of his paintings in several places throughout South India. His paintings are part of Academy and various private collections in India and abroad.
