Udupi: An agricultural equipment shop near Jamia Masjid caught fire on Saturday, December 13 due to an electrical short-circuit.
Around 2 pm a fire broke out at Agro Industries Traders that created panic among the neighboring residents.

Ananth, one of the local shop keepers said that the fire was because of short circuit. They immediately called the fire service. Two fire tenders from Udupi and one from Malpe rushed to the spot.
He added that initially we thought the fire was coming from one of the near by shops, but later found it was from Agro industry.
The estimated loss is in lakhs that the shop cum go-down suffered. No injury has been reported.
