Udupi: An accused wanted in a case managed to escape from the clutches of cops here on Sunday.

Mohammed Afzal is the accused.

According to sources, Afzal was being taken to Kerala from Mumbai. When the cops stopped at a hotel in Kota to have lunch, the accused managed to escape.

Immediately the cops informed the local police at Kota.

“But the Kerala police team did not lodge any written complaint or give anything in writing. Hence, we do not know much about the accused or the case or cases he was involved in,” a local officer told sources.
