Udupi: A second student attending the ongoing SSLC examination in the city has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus on Tuesday. By the time the report had come in the student had appeared for three exams and was readying to appear for Wednesdays Social Science Exam. Reportedly he is a student of the Kundapur Government Board School. Health officials are monitoring the situation and tracing contacts and the education department has said the student will appear for the remaining subject in the August Supplementary.

Contact tracing has revealed that two people who had arrived from Mumbai two months back and had tested positive for the virus had visited the house of the student after recovering and being discharged from the hospital, but that, health officials say cannot be affirmed as the origin of the virus in the student- it is one of many possibilities they say.
