Udupi: As many as 16 fishermen were rescued from the capsized boats in two separate incidents reported in Bhatkal-Gangolli Coast here on Sunday, August 12.

It is gathered that 8 fishermen in a boat named Shiva-Ganesh had been for deep sea fishing and while returning from fishing to Malpe, their boat began to sink due to heavy rainfall.

However, the fishermen passed a distress signal and fishermen from another boat rescued all of them.

On Sunday, August 12, another boat named Padmanabh Boat Gangolli capsized in Bhatkal-Gangolli Coast. The eight fishermen in the Padmanabh Boat Gangolli were also rescued by a team of fishermen who ventured into the sea in another boat.
