Udupi: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 15-month-old baby died after it fell in a drum of water. The incident took place near MGM College here on Friday January 8.

The deceased is Prajwal, son of Bhanuprakash Aital.

It is learnt that after washing clothes, Prajwal’s mother went out to hang them for drying. Prajwal, who was playing near the drum, fell in it. Though he was rushed to a hospital, he could not be rescued.

Manipal police have registered a case.
