Mangaluru: A youth from the Kurnadu village, who went missing after abandoning his motorcycle near the Nethravathi bridge in Ullal, was found in Shivamogga on Wednesday, June 10.
It can be recalled that Praveen Saphalya (28) went missing on Tuesday night and his bike was found by locals abandoned near the Nethravathi bridge at Ullal on Wednesday morning. Police had suspected that he might have committed suicide as the Nethravathi bridge has become some sort of a suicide point in the area.
While the police, fire personnel and others launched a search operation for the man’s body near the Nethravathi river, Praveen reportedly contacted his family over the phone and informed them that he was alive in Shivamogga.
The search operation was withdrawn soon after it came to light that the youth is alive and well.
It is still not known why the man suddenly fled to Shivamogga.
