Mangaluru: A youth was reportedly beaten black and blue by a vigilante group after he allegedly passed a paper piece with his contact number to a young woman. The incident took place on Tuesday at Belthangady.

Apart from assaulting him, the miscreants also videographed the entire incident on their mobile phones and posted on the social media, which has now gone viral. However, the faces of the miscreants are not visible in the clipping.

The incident occurred at around 4 pm when the youth allegedly had handed over a chit to a young woman who was waiting for the bus at the Belthangady bus stand. A group of youth belonging to another community which saw this took the youth to an isolated area near the taluk office and thrashed him. So far the police have not been able to track down the assaulters. It has been gathered the assaulters who were aware that CC cameras have been installed in the bus stand area, took the youth near the Taluk office to commit the heinous act.

Interestingly, the assaulters also dropped the young man to his village fearing that he may lodge a police complaint.
