Moodbidri: Hindu activists caught a youth and handed him over to Moodbidri police who used to lure women posing as a Hindu activist. After creating a fake ID on facebook with a name Mahesh, he was cheating girls, giving false hopes of marrying them.

Imtiyaz, an electrician is identified as the accused.

He had opened a fake facebook account with a name of Mahesh and used to trap girls and make them fall in love. He used to wear saffron shawl and dressed as Hindu. He also used to lure women by giving a fake visiting card in the name of Mahesh, posing as DJ in the area.

The Hindu outfits came to know the real identity of the accused when a girl who was disturbed by his behaviour complained to the activists.

The activsts who began searching for the accused laid a trap. They called him to a particular spot and thrashed him and handed him over to the police.

It is also suspected that many other girls might have been lured by him.
