Mangaluru: A 27-year-old youth breathed his last on Saturday morning after having met with a tragic accident on Friday, December 22 just a day later after having arrived in the city for holidays. Three other occupants in the car too suffered injuries in the accident that took place near BMS Hotel at Kuntikana on national highway

The deceased, Ian Mascarenhas is the son of Stephen Mascarenhas (Hemacharya), editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Weekly and mother Annie Mascarenhas and was employed in Saudi Arabia.

Reportedly, Ian was thrown out of his vehicle after it collided with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Though he was rushed to the A J Hospital for treatment, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
