Bantwal: In a tragic incident, a youth drowned in Nethravati River near Kaikunje on Monday, September 5.

Rajnikanth (24) from Nanthoor has been identified as the deceased. Sources said that he was a student of Srinivas College in the city.

It is learnt that Rajnikanth was having bath with his friends at Kaikunje in the river when tragedy struck. The victim drowned as he couldn’t make out the depth in the water.

Bantwal town police visited the spot.
