Mangaluru: A youth from the city lost his trust in online shopping and to his shock when he opened a box which was supposed to contain a cellphone he had ordered online, received vastu items on October 30.
The matter came to light when the youth informed media about the incident.
The victim named Santhosh got a call from the said company offering an expensive smartphone for cheaper price. The victim received a phone call on October 20 from the number 911142603091 belonging to a New Delhi based company named Ingelhim Enterprises with the address C-11.42, Ground floor, Sector 5, Rohini New Delhi -110085 and promised a Samsung phone worth Rs 11,000 for only Rs 3300.
They also promised a charger and a set of earphones along with the mobile.
The victim speaking to Newskarnataka, said, “I had ordered the mobile after they promised cellphone for only Rs 3300. I had already paid the money and to my shock when I received a box, it contained vastu items instead of cellphone. I filed a complaint at Bunder police station against the company. When police contacted the company they assured us to send the order in three days. But I have been contacting the company ever since and there is no positive response from them. I have lost the money.”
When Newskarnataka tried to contact the said company it was not reachable.
