Mangaluru: The CCB police have arrested one person in connection with a case of abduction and assault of a youth.
The arrested is identified as Jayaprakash alias JP(24) from Parappu in Boloor.

On February 13, a group had forcibly abducted a youth from Neermarga in a rikshaw and was stripped and assaulted before looting cash and a mobile from him.

A case was registered at Mangaluru rural police station.

Accused Jayaprakash was arrested near Shirahalli in Shikaripura in Shimoga by the CCB police.

Several cases were registered against him earlier. A case at Barke police station on charges of murder attempt of one Dinaraj in 2015 and another case in 2016 for assault on Durgesh was registered.

The accused has been handed over to Mangaluru ruarl police station for further questioning.
