Mangaluru: Community prayers were held by Nethravati Rakshana Samyuktha Samiti at Kadri Manjunatheshwara temple on Wednesday, September 14. Prayers were offered at the temple, so that court hearing on Yettinahole project by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) principal bench in New Delhi on September 21 is favourable to the citizens of Dakshina Kannada.MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who offered paryaers at the temple said that the prayers were held at all religious centres to stop the Yettinahole project. “The prayers offered today should give wisdom to a section of the politicians who are supporting the project. We expect the court hearing to be in favour of Dakshina Kannada”.

President of Nethravati Rakshana Samyuktha Samiti Vijay Kumar Shetty said that the samiti will decide its move only after the court hearing on September 21. “Due to deforestation, the district has received very less fall. If Yettinahole project continue, more tress will be felled leading to ecological imbalance. Everyone should protest against the project”.
