YCS Rally concludes

Udupi: The diocese of Udupi YCM organized a rally to mark the ending of the ‘Year of Faith’ observed by millions of catholic around the world on Saturday November 9.

Bishop of Udupi diocese Most Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo conveyed the presidential address.

After inaugurating the rally he said, “Peace is god given gift to the mankind which must be presumed in the society, the most crucial aspect that the society needs today is peace.”

Under the guidance of the Pope, last one year had been observed as the ‘Year of Faith’, followed by the catholic community. The year was celebrated as the ‘Year of Faith’ so that people appreciate and render peace in the society and the country.

The rally consisting 700 youngsters from five different units of deaneries, started from Shokamata Cathedral, Diana circle, big bazaar and Kini mulki road, where it collided and concluded at St Mary’s English medium High School at Kannarpadi.

After the rally, a rural sports meet event was held at St Mary’s English medium High School ground, Lagori, Kabbadi, tug of war and other such games were held.

Fr Baptist Menezes, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Udupi; Karnataka state youth committee director, Mary Joseph; Fr Fred Mascarenhas, Udupi church parish priest; Fr Wlison, assistant Udupi church parish priest; School administrator, Mertil Lousie; Fr Denis D’sa; YCS diocese president Elsen D’souza and others were present on the occasion.

Secretary Shiney Casalino delivered the welcome speech, whereas the Vote of thanks was given by Leslie Aroza.
