Yakshagana artist Vishwanath Shetty no more

Bantwal: Renowned Yakshagana Artist of Tenku – Baduguthittu Vishwanth Shetty died on Friday morning at his residence due to illness.
The deceased is the resident of Barjaradda in Ajjibettu Village of Bantwal Taluk.

Vishwanth shetty had learnt Yakshagana on his own with few tips from Kavur Keshav and was known for his mesmerising performances. He was well-known stage artist in Kateel, Kadri, Mangaladevi, Hiriyadka and Saligrama melas.

He had performed in Mythological based Yakshagana plays both in Tulu and Kannada.

Artists who performed with him and admirers were seen paying their last respects. He is specifically known for his role of Krishna in Shri Krishna Paramdhama.

He leaves behind his wife, two sons and a daughter. In his demise the Yakshangana theatre will miss the stalwart who stole the hearts of innumerable fans over the years.
