Mangaluru: Father Muller Medical College of Pharmacy organised a programme marking World Pharmacy Day at the Pharmacy Utility Building on Wednesday, September 25. In his presidential address, FMCI Director Fr Richard A Coelho praised the efforts put in by the pharmaceutical staff in providing accurate medication and speedy service to the needy. He said, “The pharmacy is like the hands and legs of the hospital. The sick get better with medicines dispensed by pharmacists. The daunting task of working in a pharmacy involves filling out 2,300 patient prescriptions per day, besides running three pharmacy counters in the hospital premises which has been well-oiled by the coordinated efforts all the staff.”
“This collective yet effective efforts have resulted in the Bureau Veritas certification of the hospital pharmacy,” he added.
Speaking in Kannada, Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa expressed his astonishment at the pharmacy staff donning a smile every single day and lauded Sr Sylvia for her display of work ethics and overall calm demeanour.
Senior pharmacist Asha Maria Rego compered the programme and delivered the vote of thanks as well.
FMCI has always been on a path of service and has made it their motto to heal and comfort patients by providing them with access to the best medicines available at affordable prices. Moreover, the medicines are provided with concessions for holders of the Father Muller Health Card.
