The deceased has been identified as 65-year old Ammalu Amma, who was allegedly murdered by her family Kamalaksha, her son (47), his wife Ambika (40) and their son Sharath (20).
They are said to be residents of Perladka Jeppinadka. All three have been arrested by the Police team led by Kasargod DSP Ranjith.

According to the reports, Ammalu Amma’s body was found hanging in her house on Wednesday September 17 and it was initially believed to be a case of suicide. However, her cause of death raised suspension among her well-wishers and after post-mortem it was known that she was strangled to death.
Later to which her son, daughter-in-law and grandson were interrogated by the police, when they confessed to the crime. As per the trio they killed her over a property dispute.
They said that Ammalu Amma was strangled to death by Ambika on Tuesday September 16 night when she was sleeping. After which Kamalaksha and Sharath hung the body to make it look like a suicide.
Kamalaksha, the only son of Ammalu Amma, had reportedly sold his mother’s property and bought another property. The house was bought in the name of daughter-in-law and the land was registered in the name of the son, which was the reason Ammalu Amma was furious.
Ammalu Amma, who was a quarry worker, urged them to transfer the ownership of the house in her name, due to which her family took the extreme step, they said.
