Mangaluru: In a shameful incident, six men allegedly raped a woman at Thota Bengre a few days ago.

According to the case registered at Pandeshwar Women police station, the victim had been to a beach near Thota Bengre along with her male friend, on November 18. Meanwhile, a group of six miscreants waylaid them and dragged the woman to an isolated place and gang-raped her.

As the miscreants threatened of dire consequences the woman refrained from lodging a complaint initially. However, she filed a complaint at Pandeshwar Women Police station in this regard on Monday, November 26.

Following this, the police detained six youth for questioning from Thota Bengre, sources said.
