Belthangady: Father of two daughters was arrested on Tuesday, for allegedly raping his daughters for over two months.

According to the reports, Raja, who is employed as sweeper in Dharmastala has been detained by the police, based on the complaint registered by his wife.

In the complaint, Raja’s wife states that her husband was not only physically torturing her, but was sexually assaulting her 14-year old and 10-year old daughters for over two months.

It’s learnt that the police were reluctant to file a complaint, as the issue was related to Dharmasthala.

Hence, Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi of Prajababuthwa Vedike, intervened and pressurized the police. The Vedike approached the ChildLine and ASP Rahul Kumar. Both promised to take necessary action against the accused.

A case has been registered under Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
