Mangaluru: After the allocation of portfolios Minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary expressed that he desired for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj portfolios.

Speaking at the Circuit House here on Saturday August 7, the minister of Social Welfare and Backward Classes Kota Srinivas Poojary said, “I thought I would continue in the same department. However, I had an interest in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj departments. As minister K. S. Eshwarappa is a senior and more experienced than me, he retained the portfolio.” 

“If people contacted me with the issues related to the rural development, I will work together with K. S. Eshwarappa on the same,” he added.

“I’m thankful to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for giving me important portfolios like Social Welfare and Backward Classes. This department works for social justice, and I will strive to handle the department efficiently,” he added.

He further said, “Minister Shashikala Jolle has been given the Muzrai portfolio, and I will definitely share my experience with her and expect that she will work efficiently.”

later speaking on the Covid management in Dakshina Kannada district he said, “after discussion with Deputy Commissioner and the health officials, we will soon issue the Covid guidelines.”
