Warm send-off to Haj pilgrims at Mangalore airport

:A warm send-off was arranged for Haj pilgrims at a function held at the Mangalore airport premises on September 6, Friday. Haj pilgrims will depart by special flights at 3.30 am from September 7 to 12.

UT Khader, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare, who inaugurated the programme, wished a safe tour for the Haj pilgrims. He said the state government was assisting people from economically backward families to go on a Haj tour which is the dream of every devout Muslim.

The Duwa was offered by DK District Qazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar. Khazi Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal blessed the occasion.

Moidin Bava, Mangalore North MLA presided over the function. Abhayachandra Jain, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, JR Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South, MM Ahmed, State Haj Committee President, Abdul Riyaz Khan, Karnataka Wakf Board President, Y Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor of Yenepoya University, JT Radhakrishna, Director of Mangalore Airport  and others were present.

 In all 980 pilgrims from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Chikmagalur and Hassan   will leave for Haj tour from Mangalore.
