Permude : The villagers of Permude have once again approached the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer  seeking suspension of Hasanabba, the PDO of Permude Gram Panchayat who was  behaving in a dictatorial manner without even paying  heed to the words of the Panchayat President and Members. The villagers have also demanded  action against the village accountant who they say was abetting the PDO.

The villagers had first approached the ZP CEO when  they faced problems due to  slush entering the drains, wells and fields of the region, from a land in Survey No. 34 and 36 in Kuttettur village which was allegedly converted  by flouting rules  and levelled.

The ZP CEO who took cognizance of the problem had directed that house be constructed in the site only after  raising a strong compound wall.  The  person concerned was also asked to  clear up the slush in the fields. But, no such move was made, instead a borewell was drilled in the same land. It is also said that a sub-standard compound wall which was constructed to facilitate house construction and to throw dust at the eyes of the authorities, collapsed during the recent rains, once again adding to the woes of the locals.

It is learnt, the PDO has been alleging that  the issue was raked up just because the land owner belonged to a particular community.   Villagers have demanded action against him at the earliest and suspect that bribery too might have played a role  behind the PDO’s adamant approach.
