Vigilantes assault students partying at Tannirbavi with female friends

Mangaluru: In yet another case of moral policing reported from the district, a  group of right wing activists assaulted few students, who were celebrating birthday of one of them, at Thannirbavi beach, on Saturday March 24. 

The students – Sabith, Sameer and Nithesh had arrived near Fathima church in Thannirbavi along with their two female friends. The moral policing goons assaulted the students assuming that the girls accompanying them were Hindus. Later, when the assailants realized that the girls were non-Hindus, they fled the spot.

Two students who sustained injuries in the incident were admitted to a private hospital in the city. Senior police officers rushed to the spot  immediately after the incident.

According to police the assailants have been identified as Sukesh, Varun and Deekshit.

A case has been registered in Panambur police station.
