Kasargod: A habitual offender was arrested by the Vidyanagar police station on Tuesday September 2.

The arrested has been identified as 36-year-old Meenja Koliyoor alias Mohammed Mustafa alias Katthi Mustafa, who has been booked in more than 30 separate cases till date.

A police team led by Vidyanagar ASI E V Rajasekaran arrested him, for reportedly cheating 62-year-old Delampady resident Bi Fatima of her 20 sovereigns of jewellery  in August 2012.  Another accused in the same case, Salam, has already been arrested. Vidyanagar station police were able to arrest the accused based on the complaint filed.

Mustafa is also an accused in another similar case, wherein he  has  cheated a woman at Alampady. He is also accused of taking Rs 50,000 from a Payyanur resident for paying a hospital bill.

According to the police reports Mustafa has cases pending in Bekal, Manjeshwar, Hosdurga, Badiadka, and Ambalathara police stations.
