Mangaluru: Despite the fact that terrorists linked to Dhaka Attack have said that they were influenced by provocative speeches of Televangelist Dr Zakir Naik, a large number of Muslims, here in Mangaluru staged a protest to show solidarity with Dr Naik.
Addressing the protesters outside DC’s office in Mangaluru on Friday, Popular Front of India state Secretary Shaafi Bellare said that the RSS backed union government has not banned Naik, but it has banned the ‘Right to Speech’ ensured in the Constitution. The move came in after the Indian government banned Peace TV run by Naik.

“The ban is a move to further divide people on lines of religion and to spread hatred against a particular community,” he said pointing that Right to Religion is ensured in the Indian Constitution. He further suspected that all this and more is being done to make India a ‘Hindu Nation’.

Speaking on the occasion the president of Karnataka Muslim Parishad Hameedh Khandak said that the RSS is conspiring to weaken Islam. “If you arrest one Zaik Naik thousand Zakir Naik’s will come,” he proclaimed.

Muslim Lekhakara Sangha President Umar UH, District Union of Muslim organisations Convener Athaulla, President of district union of Muslim organisations K Ashraf, President of SKSM Ismail Shafi, Saif Sultan from Hope foundation and others were present.
