Mangaluru: Bishop-Elect Msgr Peter Paul Saldanha will be installed as the new Bishop of Mangalore Diocese on September 15. The Episcopal Ordination and Solemn Installation programme will be held at the Rosario Cathedral grounds where over 15,000 faithful are expected to participate.

Archbishop of Bangalore Arch Diocese Most Rev Peter Machado, Bishop of Udupi Diocese Most Rev Gerald Isaac Lobo, priests and nuns, elected represetatives from in and around the state are expected to witness this important event.

The preparation for the event was inspected by Minister UT Khader on Tuesday, who said that the event is not confined to one community. “It is an event that is significance to the region. It is more of a social event and I will instruct the district administration to extend full support,” the Minister said.

Rosario Cathedral Parish Priest and Episcopal Ordiantion Organising Committee convenor Fr. J B Crasta, Co convenor M P Noronha, Asst Parish Priest Fr. Flavian Lobo, Parish Pastoral Parishad Vice President C J Simon were present.

The organisig committee gave the invitation to UT Khader for the event to kick start the arrangements.
