Mangaluru: Urwa police on Monday arrested a fake astrologer who had cheated hundreds of people in the name of curing problems.

Manjunath alias Laxman Rao(27) a native of Raichur is the arrested.

It is learnt that he used to collect huge sums of money with a promise to solve financial, problems related to eduction of children and family matters of clients.

He operated as an astrologer since one and half years in the name of his late father in Mangaluru. He used to lure clients with attractive advertisements on the newspaper and it is learnt that several innocent people have lost money due to this bogus astrologer.

His aide Hanumantharao is absconding.
